We brought Tyler to Children's Academy before he was even born. Thank you Ms. Susana, for allowing us to be part of your world. I am proud to have known you, and grateful to have benefitted from your noble mission. We have missed you since moving, but we always hoped to see you again. I thought I might bring you loquats again someday. You were always an inspiration. Thank you so much for using your life to create so much value.

My Dear Sweet Susana, I sit here with my heart aching, missing you more than you could ever know was possible. The emptiness I feel is not only my selfishness but that you left here before you had the chance to touch more lives the way you touched ours. Your compassion and unconditional love left prints on our hearts that will never wash away. Although, I don't understand why God took you home, I do know that his light shined through you so brightly that it will never grow dim.

Ms. Susana will always mean so much to my family. She showed so much love to our daughter, Aysia. Her heart was filled with love. We will miss her.

Our family was changed forever for the better by having Ms. Susana always nearby. We are all stronger and better people because of her. She helped each of us individually as we grew and changed over the twenty years we knew her.
When our son, Jesse, had to have major surgery at the age of four, Susana made sure he knew he was missed at his daycare. She advised us in many ways over the years, day by day, on the tiny details of daily life to coping with major events.
We enjoyed one child so much that we wanted to adopt our next child. When we had no extended family nearby, Susana said she would be honored to meet with our adoption agency as our supportive family member. She made space in both her daycare and her heart from that moment on, for our little girl, Patricia. Years later, she hired Tricia to help out at Children’s Academy. Tricia is now almost 19, and wants to work with daycare and elementary aged children, a lifetime legacy imprinted on her heart forever from the actions of one fine lady. Susana will live on in so many ways, in so many hearts.
The sadness is that we are forced to wait until the time when our lives are intertwined once again. Until those days come, we vow to carry on her loving energy with integrity, in honor of her memory, in order that we can greet her someday, with smiles and hugs again.

"Thank you for the world so sweet. Thank you for the food we eat. Thank you for the birds that sing. Thank you for everything. Amen, we may begin."

My boys learned to say this prayer before meals at Children's Academy. To this day, as they are about to turn 16 and 19 years old, we still say this prayer for grace together as a family every night at the dinner table.

I think Ms. Susana was the closest thing to having an angel on Earth that any of us will ever see. She was the most genuinely kind, loving and thoughtful person I have every met, and our family is truly blessed to have had her in our lives. Her impact on all of us will live on forever. She was truly one of a kind and she will be missed terribly.

We love you Ms. Susana, and we will never forget you. God Bless you.

Oh my Friend,
We shared so much. It is an honor to have been part of your life as you have been part of mine. I have been thinking about what I could do to "continue" something that you did. The first thing I thought of and what I always admired was your notes. No matter what was going on in your life, you would take time to send a little note that would touch my heart and bless my life. I would like to continue those blessings. A few moments to write a few words with a picture or a clipping out of the newspaper. If we all did that, life would be much nicer and full of little surprizes.
I will miss you but I will never forget you,
with much love,
Ms Mary Beth

PS, Give Richie a hug for me.

Dear Ms. Susana,

You will be sorely missed on this earth!!! When I think of the word angel...........It perfectly depicts you..........as I believe you were truly an ANGEL.......sent to us all, for a short period of time.....wish it were longer..........but am grateful for the time you were with us!!!!!

Ms. Susana was an incredible human being........the kind you meet once in a lifetime! I reflect on being a young Mom (many years ago), fearful of leaving her little one .........anywhere..........but Susana made it feel ok........and safe.......and gave thoughtful reports back......I trusted her with my little Jennifer.......and was so glad to have grown into that family way back 20 years or so. She took such great care or my daughter, and made sure we all felt safe.........and she gave call backs of re-assurance......and, I still, to this day, have my daughter's picture, with one of her still best friends, Rachel, on my refridgerator. Ms. Susana insilled such trust and such wonderful values with the children........she was truly instrumental in their growth and development! And.........we still have so many "old time videos and such" of all the greatness she encouraged and created amongst her center! I even need to give her thanks for helping me finish my Master's degree........as she was both instrumental in my research and was quoted in my final thesis. Ms. Susana was an angel on earth...........given to us for not long enough...........I am so thankful for her life and influence on both of my children..........and will forever be indebted to her..........! I send my heartfelt condolenses to both of her sons, as well as her family.........please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.......and that your Mom, did so much for children and goodness on this earth..........she will always be an angel.........and looking out for you all.........I send my deepest sympathy, Maureen Kapatkin

Dear Ms. Susana,

When people ask me where my children went to preschool/daycare, I proudly said "Children's Academy! Ms. Susana is the owner and she is the most amazing woman! She dresses as the cat in the hat on Dr. Seuss Day; decorates for every holiday imaginable and teaches about them; and has the children marching for every patriotic day! She remembers everyone's name; teaches Spanish to the children; takes care of my children like a grandmother, especially when they were sick; and sees the diamond in the rough in my youngest son! She's an angel sent from heaven!" I would say. Ms. Susana, you were like a grandmother to our family; the first person to make me feel "at home" in Brandon, when we moved 1200 miles away from our family in NY. I cried when my 2 oldest had to leave you to go to elementary school and cried again when I heard that God had called one of his beautiful angels home again. Our family is forever grateful for all you have done for us-taking care of our boys when they were small. You will always be in our hearts. You made such a difference to so many in this world. You are a legacy of love. We'l miss you!
Love, Chris, Eddie, EJ, Kyle and Jacob Milius

Legacy of Love
A teacher, a mother, a caretaker too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a teacher, not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you've earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we'll eternally keep

Two words always come to my mind when thinking of Ms. Susana and those 2 words are UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. Her kindness and gentle way of guiding our son Benjamin through his pre-school years at Children's Academy was a true blessing. She never forgot a birthday or a special occasion. It didn't matter if you spoke to her at the Pre-School or ran into her the post office, she had a special way of making everyone around her feel her joy of life and the love for the people in her life. I am sure the angels in heaven have welcomed her with open arms.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family. It has been an honor knowing Ms. Susana. Love, Julia, Bruce, Marcus and Benjamin
