The Far West Popular Culture Conference is one of my favorite conferences, and this is largely due to Felcia. I did not know Felcia as well as I would have liked, but I most certainly will remember her as a very kind and respectful person. A couple of years ago, I was ready to attend FWPCA when my my mother fell ill. Right before the conference I had to email Felcia to tell her that my mother died. She contacted me immediately and offered to read my essay at the conference. Such a task usually falls to a panel organizer, so I took the offer with a great sense of comfort. I knew I did not have to worry about it. Felcia would make sure everything ran smoothly on my behalf.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to work with her.

I can’t remember exactly when I met Felicia Campbell. It was decades ago and such a pleasant meeting that we continued to correspond as I attended several FWPCA conferences. She welcomed my work and published it in Popular Culture Studies. I’ve never known a more generous or helpful person who never settled for less and always wanted more from the world which she made all that much larger.

Dr. Campbell invited me to attend her Far West Popular Culture Association conferences which I did for many years coming from small town Chapel ScHill,North Carolina. She even allowed me to publish in the journal due to my work on African American film history. I will forever be grateful to her for the opportunity and exposure she provided, particularly at a time when I just started in the academy. He warm smile and laugh will never be forgotten. She even had her granddaughter assist with the technology at one of our conferences when I could not get my computer to work -- I would ask about her granddaughter every year. The world has lost a true spirit and loving soul. Sincerely, Charlene Regester, African, African American, & Diaspora Studies, UNC-Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Professor Felicia Campbell will always remain in my heart and soul as an inspirational spark that its ever lasting light shines on the horizon of my life. She was my professor, mentor, and my USA mother while my real mother is ten thousand miles away. I admired her rebellious spirit, a characteristic quality I saw in her through her numerous comments on the social media. She will always be my leader. My sincere condolences.
