May, 1983 Met you at work , my first day reporting to the surveying group. You were one of the crew foremen, but that morning, you were stitting at the supervisor's desk, with your feet up. He was out of the office that day. Your comment was .. "when the cat's away, the mice will play." I liked you instantly. Through the next 27 years, we shared surveying adventures, flytying and flyfishing excursions, canoeing and boating, RV fishing trips, trips to Montana and Wyoming, the Catskills, the Adirondacks, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire and local fishing streams, diners and eateries, tackle stores and flyfishing shops, museums and fishing expos, and so much more. I shared your interest in many things, exchanged ideas on some, absorbed knowledge and insight on others. Your sarcasm and wit, accompanied by a smile out one side of your mouth, or a silent laugh, always kept things in a positive perspective. Thank you for being my friend. Stephen
