Margaret L. Baker, 84, of Clintwood, Virginia died peacefully at home
approximately 8:00 pm, Friday, February 22, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones.
Margaret was born August 31, 1928 in Clinchco, Virginia to Eugene Ballard
and Willie Mae Linkous. She was preceded
in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles D. Baker, and their son, Richard
Surviving are her children: Jeff Baker
Rexx (Donna) Baker
Brian (Brenda) Baker
Sally Baker (David) Drake
Susan Baker (Bryan) Lambert
She is also survived by her two remaining sisters, Fran (Linkous) Morse
of Penn Yan, New York, and Betty (Linkous) Stallard of Richmond, Virginia. Her grandchildren are Gredel Howell, Cassa
Andrews, Jennifer (Lafayette) Moran, Jill (Saul) Luffy, Kristie (Russ) Fleming,
Stacie (Marvin) Abeita, Lydia (Warren) Leap, Charlie (Shon) Baker, Lindsey
Baker, Anthony (Holly) Dotson, Angela Dotson, Maggie (Jazz) Coleman, Ty
(Katrina) Baker, Kacie Drake, Mary Drake, Alex Lambert, and Houston Lambert. She is also survived by 18 great
Margaret spent her life caring for her family, friends, and
community. She was active in her church
(Clintwood United Methodist) and rejoiced in cooking and caring for others.
The Baker family would like to give special thanks to Mary Baker, Ida
Branham, Karen O’Quinn, Cherri Stanley, Becky Hughes, and Paytria Bolling for
taking such good care of their mother.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Mullins Funeral Home
Chapel at 6:00 pm with services being conducted at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday,
February 27, 2013 at 11:00 am with clergymen Ronnie Mutter officiating at
Mullins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will
follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be sons, grandsons and son-in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Dickenson County Food
Mullins Funeral Home and staff are serving the Baker
