Joseph N Filoseta, 96, of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away
peacefully in his sleep on Sunday July 7th after a brief illness.
The family will welcome visitors on July 15th from 6-8 p.m.
at Mevec Funeral Home in Ballston Spa, NY followed by a 9:15 am service at Mevec’s on Tuesday July 16th.
will be interred with full military honors at the Veterans Cemetery in
Schuylerville, NY. His beloved Wife Helene of 66 years was interred at the Veterans Cemetery on July

Joseph was born on December 25, 1916 in New York City to
Emil and Josephine (Stile) Filoseta. Joseph was one of 6 children and was
predeceased by his siblings Mario, Michael, Mary, Elena and Rae.
He met Helene Pollack at a roller skating rink in Brooklyn
and the two were married on February 21, 1941. Together they had four surviving
children: Linda Duerr Gardner of Clarkdale, AZ, Emil Filoseta of Cottonwood,
AZ, Michele Filoseta Viscecchia of Freeport, NY and Joseph G. Filoseta of
Joseph worked in the hospitality business for his entire
career, learning the business first as a bell hop and retiring in 1984 as the
General Manager of a group of five hotels. Joseph and Helene moved to Saratoga
Springs in 2001 to be closer to the 13 grand children, 8 great grandchildren
and 3 great great grandchildren that they enjoyed. Shortly after Helene
died in July of 2007, he moved to a small private golf course community in
Cottonwood, AZ to enjoy the final chapter of his long and wonderful life playing
golf and making new friends. Joseph was an active member of the Benevolent and
Protective Order of Elks for 44 years. His nearby local Lodge Jerome, AZ is
planning a life celebration event and dinner.
Joseph was loved by the people whose lives he
touched. He was a quiet gentle man with an unwavering love of life. He will be
missed by family and friends alike.
