Joseph “Joe” Boggs, age 61, of Abingdon, Virginia passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center. Joe was a former resident of Dickenson County, Va. He had been an employee of Appalachian Power Company, C&P Telephone Company and he owned and operated several car washes. He was a catcher for the first baseball team at Clinch Valley College. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dan Roy Boggs and Denny Boggs; his parents, Ernest and Verna Boggs.

Von and Dan Roy Boggs of the home.
Daughter: Sarah Boggs of Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
Brother: Charles Boggs of Clintwood, Va.
Several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Talbert officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Boggs Family Cemetery in Pound, Virginia. Family and friends wishing to attend are asked to meet at Mullins Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. to join in the precession. Joe’s casket will be transported in his 1955 Chevrolet truck.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
