Ayako Miyazaki Meyers, 84, of Poulsbo, WA, passed away peacefully on March 1 at her
home from pancreatic cancer. Her final days were spent with her family and friends by her side.
Ayako was born on November 30, 1928 in Shizuoka-ken, Japan. And met her husband, John Meyers in Yokosuka, Japan while he was serving in the US Navy. They were married on September 21, 1960.
Ayako was a loving homemaker and enjoyed and exceled at craft making, sewing, gardening, baking and cooking. Her hands were a gift with which she could create amazing beauty and her heart was full of generosity as she was forever sharing and giving to her friends and family. It was a rarity if you could leave her house without something she had made. Her amazing spirit and selfless character will live on through her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening and watching her beloved Mariners.
Ayako is preceded in death by her parents, Iwao Miyazaki and Tsuma Nagasawa Miyazaki and brother Ken-ichi.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by husband of 52 years, John; daughter,
Nina Meyers; son, Frank Meyers; grandsons, Nick and Stan Chmielewski; great-grandson,
Adi Miyazaki-McDonald and sister, Eiko of Japan.
At her request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be
