and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Buteaux passed away on Wednesday, November 27,
2013, at 6:05 PM in Jeanerette.
Al was a
quiet outdoorsman who treasured the simple things in life. He worked as a
welder, a plumber, a carpenter and a farmer. Since he was a young boy, he
enjoyed cat-fishing, hunting, frogging and camping out. He was a brave and
adventurous man and spent years in the Atchafalaya Basin and the local bayous
and waterways. His main outdoor passion in life was crawfishing, especially at
his favorite ‘country place’ which was his Grandfather’s beloved farm and crawfish
pond. Al was a kind-hearted person and often gave his last dollar to help
anyone else in need. Along with his Grandfather, ‘Papa Toad’ and his Father, he
loved raising various farm animals. He was also known for rescuing and feeding
any injured, lost or abandoned animal. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces
and nephews in ‘the country’ and will be greatly missed by all of his family,
friends and his girlfriend Robin. He was a wonderful son and took care of his
parents for years in his later life. He will never be forgotten.
